San Diego is one of many popular tourist destinations, partly due to the fact that the weather tends to be mild most of the year, making it easy to enjoy the outdoors. It makes a great destination for those who live in the north and want to get away from the winter weather.

The weather in San Diego is consistent, without much risk of hurricanes or tornadoes like some other popular destinations. You also won't have to worry much about heavy seasonal rains or humidity since it is a bit far to the north for these weather conditions.

One popular destination for both locals and tourists alike is the beach. There are beaches that are great for surfing, as well as beaches that are nice for sunbathing and spending time with the family.

Once you have had your fill of the beach, you can go out on the water. You can choose to rent kayaks or sailboats, or to pay to go on a harbor cruise or a whale watch, depending on how active you prefer to be.

Sea World will give you a chance to get an up close view of many of the animals that are found in the ocean. If you plan your visit right you might get to see one of the shows that are put on with seals, Orca whales, or dolphins as well as the many exhibits.

Another option for those who love animals is the San Diego Zoo, which is famous for the animal habitats that are modeled after those found in the wild. All sorts of animals are featured, including some rare pandas.

The zoo is also affiliated with the San Diego Wild Animal Park, which allows you to see animals in safari-like conditions.

For people who prefer visiting museums and gardens, or for a nice restaurant where you can get lunch. you can check out the famous Balboa Park neighborhood.

Those who have children will probably want to take the time to stop at Legoland and Belmont Park since the kids will really enjoy the attractions there.

History buffs might like to eat in Old Town, where buildings have been preserved to make it possible to see what historic San Diego was like. Other great options for dining are available in the Gaslamp District, which is the major shopping and entertainment area in the center of the city.

Those who like to play golf can check out one of the many different golf courses in the city. People who prefer to watch sports rather than play them can check out a Padres or a Chargers game.
