Disasters cause more people to go on holiday?

Although the title here is quite misleading, it is also quite true. Samoan holidays and those to Australia have both risen since the natural disasters have taken these two countries. But is it really that people want to go on holiday to these places. However what are these reasons, is it because they want to help, or because they want to check on relatives.

People have been booking Hotels and Flights to Samoa in order to check on others that have been holiday to the same location. Also there are those that are even taking time off work t travel to Samoa to see if they can help with rebuilding or just helping the people who have been stranded by the tsunami.

There are other countries that have seen this boost in tourism, once a natural disaster has happened. Holidays to the Indian Ocean sky rocketed, after the Tsunami problem went on. Sri Lanka holidays went up because of the help that was needed, and although the Maldives is still a very difficult place to get to in these times (because it is a mass of islands and islets) it still received a lot of tourism / help.

So even when there is a natural disaster, people still want to go to these destinations. Holidays around the world stay at a normal level, and even to places where natural disaster have happened. However are there still people that go on holiday to these places after there has been a natural disaster? If you were to check sales you would see that figures don’t dramatically fall when there is a natural disaster. People even still try to get a Luxury hotel to stay in, and they get some good prices.

People are amazing creatures, to actually want to go on holidays to these places is an interesting decision. But for those that go on Sri Lanka holidays, Maldives holidays and Christmas holidays to help out others, then good luck to them.
